×In a unique Ars Scientia collaboration at Blusson QMI, visual/media artist JG Mair joined forces with physicist Alannah Hallas to creatively transform the "insightful failures" of high-entropy oxides into a groundbreaking artistic medium: paint. Their series, "Quantum Material Paintings," is a fusion of art and science, where each piece incorporates lab-formed crystals mixed with acrylic, documented in Hallas’ logbook. This work challenges traditional artistic mediums and encapsulates the vibrant intersection of scientific experimentation and artistic exploration. -Dr. James Day, Blusson QMI Senior Research Associate and Shelly Rosenblum, Curator of Academic Programs, Belkin Gallery UBC
