×An Ars Scientia collaboration between resident visual/media artist JG Mair and physicist James Day at Blusson QMI, “56 Wires” is a piece based on wire lengths sourced from LAIR Room 145. The extremely specialized nature of the wiring and its uses in physics labs was of particular interest as the gradient formed by the wire gauges meticulously constructs a visual inventory that alludes to the constant dynamic between chaos and order, ebb and flow. -Dr. James Day, Blusson QMI Senior Research Associate and Shelly Rosenblum, Curator of Academic Programs, Belkin Gallery UBC
