As part of his talk, Mair will present one of his major works, Chroma Chamber, a web-based new media art installation that investigates human expectations of vision and machine algorithms by programmatically collating real-time Google image results to surround the viewer with the distilled colour of the words they speak.

From folk art to custom creations - the Nikkei National Museum is pleased to present 100 artist-designed daruma for a special show and silent auction.

This is the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre's 6th annual Bloom Art Auction. Visitors have the opportunity to bid on these beautifully creative daruma, with all the proceeds supporting quality museum exhibits, programs, education and special events related to Japanese Canadian history, culture and art. Hosted by CBC's Margaret Gallagher, the event will be held on Saturday, May 24 from 7:00pm to 9:30pm at the Nikkei Centre.
